Losing weight and quitting smoking are amongst the two most popular things people want to accomplish.
As a hypnosis professional in South Africa I get many clients call me up asking if I can help them reach their goal weight using hypnosis.
Of course, the answer to that question is a resounding ‘Yes!’
However, with all the self-help weight-loss products, diets, slimming teas and gels and other mechanicals that invade the market that just don’t work, people become very skeptical to anything that says it can do what it says on the box.
So after I tell a potential client that hypnosis indeed is quite an effective tool for losing weight and keeping the weight off, they proceed cautiously to ask, “Do you have proof? What is the success rate?”
As a lover of science, at this point I hand the baton over to scientific research into the effectiveness of hypnosis for weightloss to do all the talking and proving for me.
What does the Research Say?
In a study done for the Journal of consulting and clinical psychology, Cochrane and Friesen published a paper titled ‘Hypnotherapy in weight loss treatment’ where 60 females that were atleast 20% overweight were investigated for the effectiveness of hypnosis for weight loss.
Hypnosis was more effective than a control group. These woman lost on average 17 pounds in comparison to the average weightloss of 0.5 pounds in the control group. The study concluded that Hypnosis was 30 times as Effective for weightloss.
In a prior study of hypnosis versus a treatment for behavioral change, hypnosis subjects continued losing significant weight up to two years later while those who had behavioral change treatment showed little further change.
At the University of Cennecticut researchers analysed 18 studies comparing a cognitive behavioral therapy such as relaxation training, guided imagery, self monitoring, or goal setting with the same therapy supplemented by hypnosis.
Those who received the hypnosis lost more weight than 90 percent of those not receiving hypnosis and maintained the weight loss two years after treatment ended.
In a study by Irving Kirsch for the Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology analysis indicated that the benefits of hypnosis for weightloss increased substantially over time and that hypnosis more than doubled average weight-loss.
These Scientific Studies prove that Hypnosis not only helps you lose weight, it helps you keep it off as well as continue losing weight months or even years later!
Do you want to take control of your life now and lose the weight your body does not need?
