Please read these terms and conditions carefully before using www.findahypnotist.co.za (the “Site”). By accessing or using the Site, you agree to be bound by these terms. Before a practitioner’s or school’s contact details are shown, you will be asked to confirm that you have read and accept these terms.
1. About this site
Find a Hypnotist is a province-by-province directory, free for the public to search, listing hypnotherapists and hypnotists, and the schools and colleges that train them, who have submitted their details for publication. The Site is a listing service only. We do not provide hypnotherapy, counselling, or any other clinical or therapeutic service ourselves.
2. How practitioner listings are reviewed
We review practitioner listings by asking every practitioner who submits a listing to supply copies of their qualification certificates, which we check at face value against the qualifications stated in the listing. We do not have the means to establish the authenticity of these documents: we do not authenticate them, and we do not contact the issuing institutions or professional bodies to confirm them. Certificates are accepted in good faith. We therefore cannot and do not guarantee that any practitioner listed on the Site is who they represent themselves to be, or that they hold the qualifications, certifications, registrations, or experience stated in their listing.
Listings are based on information self-submitted by each practitioner or school, and we accept no liability for any inaccuracy, misrepresentation, or omission in a listing.
Training schools are not verified. The accreditation, registration and affiliations shown for a training school are published exactly as the school supplied them. We do not ask schools for documents and we do not contact any accrediting body or association to confirm them. Our review of qualification certificates applies to practitioners only. By enrolling with a school found through this Site, you accept that its accreditation, registration and affiliations have not been verified by us. Any checks, such as confirming them with the accrediting body or association, and the final decision to enrol, are your responsibility.
By booking or engaging a practitioner found through this Site, you accept that their certificates have been checked at face value only, as described above. Any further checks, such as confirming a qualification with the institution that issued it, confirming professional body registration (where applicable), or assessing the practitioner’s suitability for your needs, are your responsibility. The final decision on whether to engage a practitioner, and responsibility for that decision, rests with you.
3. No endorsement
Inclusion of a practitioner or training school in the directory is not an endorsement or recommendation by us of that practitioner or school, their methods, their courses, or the outcomes of any treatment, session or course.
4. Practitioner and school responsibilities
By submitting a listing, you confirm that all information provided, including your name, qualifications, business details, and any photo, logo, or certificate uploaded, is accurate, current, and genuine, and that you have the right to use any image submitted. Certificates you supply are accepted in good faith, and you remain solely responsible for their authenticity. If you list a training school, you confirm that the accreditation, registration and affiliations you state are accurate and current. Submitting false, misleading, or unverifiable information may result in your listing being rejected, edited, or removed at our discretion, without notice.
5. Listing review and removal
All listings are reviewed before publication. We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to reject, edit, suspend, or remove any listing at any time, for any reason, including where we have reason to doubt the accuracy of the information provided.
6. Listing fees
Searching the directory is free for the public. A listing, whether for a practitioner or a training school, is free for the first six months after it is approved. After that, a small annual fee applies to keep the listing live and to cover hosting and the running costs of the directory. We will tell you the amount, and how to pay, well before it is due. If you do not wish to pay the annual fee, your listing will simply be removed from the directory, with no further obligation, and you may list again at any time. Fees are not refundable once a listing year has started, except where the law requires otherwise. We may change the annual fee from time to time, and any change will be communicated to you before your next renewal.
7. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Find a Hypnotist and its operators accept no liability for:
- any loss, damage, or harm arising from your use of, or reliance on, information contained in a listing;
- the conduct, actions, advice, treatment, or services provided by any practitioner listed on the Site, or the content, quality, accreditation, or outcome of any course offered by a listed school; or
- any dispute, claim, or disagreement arising between you and a listed practitioner or school.
Any engagement between you and a practitioner or school found through this Site is strictly between you and that practitioner or school. We are not a party to that relationship.
Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under the Consumer Protection Act or other South African law, or excludes liability for our own gross negligence or anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.
8. Third-party links
Listings may include links to the own websites of practitioners and schools. These are third-party sites we do not control, and we are not responsible for their content.
9. Intellectual property
The Site’s design, layout, and content (excluding material submitted by practitioners and schools) belongs to Find a Hypnotist. Practitioners and schools retain ownership of any photos, logos, or written content they submit, but grant us a licence to display this material on the Site for as long as the listing remains active.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the Site after changes are posted means you accept the updated terms.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
